Saw this elsewhere and honed in down to less steps. Where I saw it, they had you switching characters and whatnot. No need. So this is a bug in the game that lets you exploit the stock market for HUGE cash really fast without doing the assassination missions.

Do this after the Life Invader mission is complete:

1. Open you phone and go to the web.
2. Go to Money and Finances at the top.
3. Go to the LCN market.
4. Go to the marketplace tab.
5. Sort by the last column... it's % or some shit.
6. The most losery stock should be life invader.
7. Select it.
8. Buy as much as you can.
9. Back all the way out to the browser and choose LCN Stock Market again.
10. Go to My Portfolio.
11. Scroll down and select the Life Invader Stock.
12. Choose SELL.
13. Choose Sell All.
14. PROFIT.

Back all the way out to the phone browser and repeat. No need to close the phone. No need to switch characters. You will max out at 2.1 billion pretty fast.

I did the old stock market thing back on ps3, didnt make 2 billion but made hundreds and hundreds of millions

I am going to agree with most people tho, Single Player is absolutely worthless except from the story, there are no activties that you need money for, you can't buy houses. you can only buy cars, GTO is where it's at, and I really wish that the stuff in GTO they had put in the single player mode, I mean the whole thing of GTA was buying houses and moving up in the world, it would of been a great reason for me to keep playing in single player, but once i'd finished the missions there was no point to it.

Worked last night and my game was up to date. Not sure when they patch came out.

I can attest to this still working. Just tried it with multiple characters.

You don't have to back out of the browser/page at all either.

It worked, up to a point. Once you get up to where selling it all would put you over the $2.1xx billion mark, it glitched out and wouldn't sell. I reloaded, and tried it again, and stopped at ~$1.6 billion on Michael, and ~$1.8 billion on Franklin. Too bad I don't have Trevor yet.

A trick that could save me from having to actually play the game I bought? Sign me up.

For those yet to try it here's some humble advice. Get a vehicle, select your fav radio station and be sure to click the right fucking stock! It takes about 10 mins to reach 2 billion for each character... But here's the hilarious twist, just as I reached 2 billion, I selected the wrong stock and lost EVERYTHING! Every penny! And then in Rockstars sick twisted humor my loss came up as breaking news...

It would be good if we could post up some of the vehicles we trick out with our billion. I've got a chrome Lamborghini looking car and at night the city reflections on the chrome body looks sublime.

I don't even want to try this for the sole reason that it's not online. SP, don't even want to buy that country club. Only reason why I would do this is for the trophy

You first need to complete 'Friend Request' with Michael after you've called Jay Norris it should be working.

Worked perfectly for me. Will make game a lot more enjoyable

Cool. I'll use this to buy the properties sooner than I would have. Also means I don't need to play the stock market on the assassination missions and waste time waiting for the diminished returns.

Just a heads-up on this. It works on whatever stocks are down. So, if LifeInvader isn't the biggest drop in value, just take whatever is and it will work. Just did it now with Animal Ark.

Does this work for the xbox one? cause Im trying and its not working at all. Im actually losing money

If you're doing it immediately, it shouldn't be losing any money as you'd, at worst, get back what you invested and break even.

I did it immediately after the tv went off and I got a phone call from lester

Yeah, it will. I tested it by buying 10 stocks, and doing the method just to see what would happen.

I can confirm that this still works as of Nov. 25. The key thing not explained in the OP is that you have to sell the stock by going into the stock's individual page within My Portfolio, not from the general My Portfolio screen. You have to click on portfolio, then click on the actual stock, and hit the sell, sell all buttons WITHIN THAT INDIVIDUAL STOCK'S PAGE. Do that and it works. No need to do all that moving around in the browser either.

Here is a slightly clearer guide that should work for people:

1. Open you phone and go to the web.
2. Go to Money and Finances at the top.
3. Go to the LCN market.
4. Go to the Marketplace tab.
5. Sort by the last column... it's % change
6. The stock that has changed most in value is usually Lifeinvader.
7. Buy as much as you can.
8. Go to My Portfolio tab.
9. Click on the stock you purchased (usually Lifeinvader), GO INTO THAT STOCK'S PAGE, DO NOT SELL FROM PORTFOLIO SCREEN
10. Sell All. Reap massive profit. I was quadrupling each time.
11. Repeat process by clicking on Marketplace tab, starting over--NO NEED TO EXIT BROWSER.

Yea it's definitely not working and I bought the lowest stock I could find which happened to be burgershot and lost money. This sucks

Boo. It takes them forever to fix bugs that make the game worse, but if it's a money cheat that benefits you, boom, gone.

Not all of us are mindless online-playing drones. If I were to guess, you probably are a MAJOR fan of Call of Duty.

BTW, I imagine this will be patched, but maybe the above poster is on to something, and Rockstar won't really care about patching the menial single-player glitch/exploit.

If you create an unpatched save, do the bug and them patch it, will it work?

I dont see why not. The game saves your amount of money, not how you obtained it, AFAIK.
